How to Live In The Moment - Mindfulness

This is it! This is the only life you have. Live every moment. Start living fully today. It is the moments now that make up your life. You are where you are in life because of what you chose to do at the moment. Everything that happens in your future is because of the choices you make now. We are not living in eternity. This life we have will end; it is finite. Tomorrow may not come. None of us know our future. We only get one life, but if lived fully, one is enough. Start living your best life today. Manifest your dreams starting today. What are you waiting for?

When we relive the past or worry about the future, we have lost today. You are robbing yourself of enjoying today. You can not do anything to change the past. It is over. The past is behind you, leave it there. Don't waste a single moment of today reliving your past. When you worry and fret about what "might be" in the future, you have lost the joy that might have been today. Worrying about the future is a fruitless mental exercise that only brings about stress.

I have had loved ones diagnosed with a terminal illness, and I had brushes with cancer, illness, and injuries that shed light on the importance of seizing the day. When you face your mortality, suddenly you appreciate every moment of every day. Each second is savored and relished. Every hug is, and each sunrise is a gift. Why do we not see the value of this fleeting life until we are faced with death? If you were faced with six months to live would you choose to live it differently? Would you tackle your bucket list? Would you show those you care for more love? Would you wake up early and go to bed late to get the very most out of each day? How would your life be?

Don't wait to die before you start to live. Wake up every day excited to live. Each day is a gift, and it should be treated as such. What is on your bucket list? It's called a bucket list because it is a list of all the things you want to do before you 'kick the bucket.' How many items have you crossed off your list? I bet that watching TV and going down the social media rabbit hole is not on your bucket list. Time is so precious and something we can never get back, so why are we wasting it? In 2018, the average time spent on social media was 2:32 per day. That's 1,964 hours in one year. How much time do you spend on the things that truly matter to you? Do you cherish the rushed mornings with your loved ones, before you everyone leaves to start their day? Do you take time to cultivate friendships? Do you make time to exercise your body and mind? Are you carving out time to plan that trip to Europe that you've always wanted?
